Hello!  I am Rhonda Colvin and I will be the 5th & 6th grade homeroom, Bible, and Heritage Studies Teacher and I will also be teaching 5th- 8th grade English/Language this school year.  I am very excited about this year and look forward to teaching your students and getting to know each student’s family.

I grew up in Thomasville and attended the Thomasville City Schools from 1st grade through to my graduation from Thomasville High School.  After graduation, I attended Shorter College for a year, but came back the following year a little closer to home and attended Valdosta State College where I received a degree in  Music Education/Vocal Performance.  I went back later and attended classes to get certified in Elementary Education.

I’ve taught school in many states and at all grade levels.  I have taught in GA, LA, MS, KY, and SC.  While I was in KY, I attended Murray State University, as I was teaching , and received my Master’s degree in Special Education.  I have taught in public and private Christian schools and have taught at all grade levels from Pre-k through 12th grade.  I’ve taught special needs students as well as regular students on all of these grade levels and in all subjects.  I am certified in all grades as a special education teacher and have taught in many different settings from self-contained, resource, collaborative, inclusive and consultative.  I am also fully certified in elementary education and middle school.

Teaching is a true joy to me and I love to see students achieve goals and be successful at what they do. I look forward to this year and to getting to know your student and your family as we go through this year together.
